As I watched my mother age and face physical health challenges, I saw firsthand how everyday tasks became harder for her. Simple chores like laundry turned into real obstacles. What worried me most was seeing her struggle to carry a heavy laundry bag down the stairs—a fall waiting to happen.

For many seniors, laundry isn’t just inconvenient—it can be dangerous. As physical limitations grow, keeping up with laundry can become overwhelming, or even impossible. This often leads to wearing unwashed clothes, not out of neglect, but because managing laundry simply becomes too difficult. Unfortunately, dirty clothing and bedding don’t just affect comfort—they can impact health. Oils and bacteria trapped in fabrics create conditions that lead to skin irritation, infections, and other complications.

That’s why clean clothes and bedding are essential—not only for comfort and dignity but for overall well-being. While many seniors rely on family or caregivers for help, not everyone has that support.

Though I didn’t own a laundromat when my mother was alive, I’m proud to offer a service now that supports families in the way I wish I could have supported her. Mary’s Laundromat & Dry Cleaning, named in her honor, provides dependable, compassionate laundry care tailored especially for aging adults.

We offer weekly or biweekly pickup and delivery of clothing, linens, pillowcases, blankets, and more. Every item is carefully sorted, washed, dried, folded, and returned right to your doorstep—fresh, clean, and ready to use.

Clean laundry may seem like a small detail, but it makes a big difference. It reduces stress, promotes better hygiene, restores pride, and most importantly, supports health and happiness.

My mother, Mary, passed away in February 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer at age 84. She never got to see this laundromat or experience the service we now offer, but her memory lives on in everything we do. We’re committed to treating your loved ones with the care and dignity she so deeply deserved.
